11. Are you aware the Region has a Hospitals & Institutions subcommittee?
a. What are the services this subcommittee should provide?
b. In what ways can we improve this subcommittee?

Try to convince Area Committee Chairs to get involved with Region.

look at some other regions and what there subcommittee does, like in mo., they have an effort to get people to write to inmates wanting to work steps etc

teach recovering addicts that can help. teach them how they can help. do not tell addicts where they can help if they have an idea where and how to reach out to help so be it help them in to the new facility to help in new place in our areas. reaching out to help the still suffering addicts. it just might help our recovering addicts also.

I think I'm sounding like a broken record and for that I appoligize. If Region, the one's with the most experence went to the facilities with the ASC chairs the proper message would be carryed and the ASC chairs would learn more about their responsiblities. ASC H&I chairs have a lot on their plates taking meetings in. And yes again, this still still means that we have to find that way to get members involved.

When i was at region as lit chair the subcommittee went ro the areas and them reported back too region.This was because the areas met every month and region only met every other month.That away the area subcomittee chair didn't have too add another meeting too there list. It was harder back then because two area met the same day now that that has change the regional comittee chair can make it too all the areas in one month. this is the way we use too do it.I hope this helps.hugs roger
